Switching from H7 halogens to 45W LEDs for car headlights is a very common upgrade, but it should be done carefully. A 45W LED is a high-end product: standard halogens consume 55W but produce much less light, while standard LEDs often stop at 25-30W.

Here's why you should (or shouldn't) make this switch:

The main reason is depth of field.

Higher lumens: A standard H7 halogen bulb emits around 1500 lumens. A 45W LED kit can deliver up to 4000-5000 lumens per bulb.

Pure White: LED light (typically 6000K) is similar to sunlight. This is less tiring on the eyes than the yellowish light from halogens and reflects road signs and obstacles better.

Unlike xenon kits that take seconds to warm up, LEDs reach full brightness instantly. This is crucial if you use H7s as high beams for flashing.

Halogens heat by radiation (they burn the air around the filament), which over time can cloud the headlight's reflector or yellow the clear plastic.

The 45W LED gets very hot, but the heat is managed by a rear fan or aluminum heat sinks, preserving the integrity of the internal reflector.
