• Halogen bulbs dissipate about 80-90% of their energy as heat. LEDs are dramatically more efficient:
• Less battery drain: An LED draws a fraction of the watts a halogen requires (often going from 5W to less than 1W).
• No overheating: Halogens can become very hot, which over time can cause the plastic of the lamp holders to warp or the clear lenses to yellow.

2. Light Quality and Visibility

• The most immediate advantage is visual. Halogens emit a yellowish light (around 2700K-3000K), while LEDs offer:
• Ice White: A color temperature between 5000K and 6000K that makes the interior or license plate look much more modern.
• Superior brightness: For the same size (36mm), a good LED produces many more lumens, making it easier to search for objects in the cabin at night.

3. Extended Duration

• While the filament of a traditional C5W bulb is sensitive to vibrations in the car and has an average lifespan of about 1,000 hours, LEDs can last for over 30,000-50,000 hours. In practice, once installed, you likely won't need to replace them for the entire life of the car.

• Unlike halogens, which require a fraction of a second to heat up the filament, LEDs reach full brightness instantly. This is especially useful when used as courtesy or under-door lights.
