Connection Cable for Control Unit 1307329153 and D1S Lamp
The power cable that connects the Xenon control unit (ballast) code 1307329153 (originally produced by AL Bosch / Automotive Lighting) to the D1S lamp is a fundamental and very delicate component.
Direct replacement without modifications.

Information
What is the cable for?
In D1S Xenon lamps, the igniter is integrated directly into the metal base of the bulb itself. The cable that runs from the control unit to the bulb has the following functions:
Carrying high voltage: To ignite the Xenon gas inside the bulb, the igniter requires an initial surge of very high voltage current (up to 25,000 volts).
Powering constant operation: Once the lamp is turned on, the control unit stabilizes the voltage (around 85 Volts AC) to keep the light on and constant.
Shielding electromagnetic interference: Since it involves high voltage and alternating current, the cable is heavily shielded to prevent interference with the car's on-board electronics (radio, ABS control units, sensors).
Why does it need to be replaced?
The main reasons why this cable gets damaged and requires replacement are as follows:
1. Thermal wear and "cooking" of the insulation
- Xenon lamps generate a lot of heat inside the headlight. Over the years, the extreme heat "cooks" the plastic and cable sheath, making it rigid and brittle. If the insulation cracks, the current leaks.
2. Short circuits and electric arcs (flares)
- If the cable insulation fails, the initial 25,000-volt discharge will seek the shortest path to ground (the metal body of the headlight). This generates arcing (sparks and flames) that can burn the cable itself or irreparably damage the new control unit.
3. Moisture infiltration and oxidation
- Headlights aren't always perfectly sealed. If moisture gets in, the small metal pins inside the plug (on the bulb or control unit side) oxidize or melt, interrupting the flow of current.
4. False contacts (flickering lights)
- If you notice that your Xenon light flashes when moving, flickers, or goes out when you hit a pothole, the fault is often not the bulb itself but the cable plug that has become loose and is no longer making stable contact.
