The difference between a spotlight and a floodlight:
A spotlight has a narrow beam that concentrates light on a small area, while a floodlight is designed to spread light over a wide area. With a reflector, you will see more distant objects ahead of you, but everything beside you will remain in darkness; with a floodlight it's the opposite. Because the light is more concentrated, a spotlight will appear brighter than a floodlight, but only within its narrower radius. A spotlight is better suited to illuminating objects, whereas a floodlight is better suited to illuminating areas.
